Whangārei Maritime Festival
Festival brand strategy and identity

The idea for the Maritime Festival was hatched by a couple of international yachties, who were stuck in Whangārei during COVID-19 and wanted to give back to the local community. We were stoked to be asked to be part of the organising group and lead the branding and design for the event.

The brand identity was to reflect a fun, family-friendly event and attract boating enthusiasts locally but also from the Bay of Islands and Auckland. The limited marketing budget was maximised using digital platforms, and mix of strategically placed posters, billboards and radio advertising.

The crowds of over 13,000 over the weekend attended the festival making it one of the biggest events Northland has ever experienced. What media said

From attendees:

"Congratulations on a hugely successful inaugural festival! It was above and beyond expectations for us and was an amazing opportunity to raise our profile and promote what we do."
